An Investigation into the Use of Socio-Cultural Strategies in L2 Writing among Chinese English Majors

This paper reports on the results of a quantitative study that was aimed to measure use socio-cultural strategies in learning English writing among group 155 Chinese university major students. survey informed by theory holds L2 is mediational process which couple factors tend mediate second/foreign language. The thus conceptualized an array and measured self-designed questionnaire. Descriptive techniques were applied analyze collected data. revealed surveyed participants endorsed medium high level strategies. They reported most frequently role-mediated their learning, followed sign-mediated strategies, rule-mediated community-mediated tool-mediated respectively. are implicative for instruction.
